Office of Public Information: 

The Fort Pierce Police Department acknowledges the importance of keeping our community informed of the activities and operations of the police department which are a matter of public interest and safety. To maximize the flow of information to the public, the police department is dedicated to disseminating accurate and factual information to the mass media in an orderly and timely manner.   

The Fort Pierce Police Department’s Public Information Office prepares news releases, coordinates print and broadcast coverage of department events and acts as the liaison between the Police Department and the local, state and national media at crime scenes, special events, critical incidents and other activities that generate media interest. 

After-Hours On-Call Policy:

Hours of operation: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The office is closed on city holidays and weekends. After hours emails and phone messages will be returned the following business day. 

The Public Information Office strives to be responsive and professional, acting in compliance with the Florida Public Records Law 119 and in the best interest of Fort Pierce Community and the Fort Pierce Police Department. Routine media inquiries and records requests are handled as expeditiously as possible during normal business hours. 

A public information officer is on-call for emergencies and for significant events after hours and on weekends. Written records, including arrest affidavits and event reports, are not available on the weekend and should be routed through the Public Records Request form here:
